Why is choosing a trainer with CPDT credentials important (www.apdt.com)? Because a trainer who has received the Certifed Pet Dog Trainer credential has met eligibility requirements and has successfully demonstrated his or her knowledge by passing the certification exam. To meet the eligibility requirements, a trainer candidate must have at least 300 hours experience in dog training within the last 5 years and references from a veterinarian, training client and a professional colleague. The certification testing covers knowledge of dog behavior and application of training techniques. Certified Dog Trainers must maintain their credentials through continuing education programs. These education requirements ensures that Certified Pet Dog Trainers are knowledgeable about the most current research, and techniques.
Lisa continues to educate herself in the sport of dog agility and has attended numerous seminars - view a complete list.
